hello,

Ready to Manifesto Some Miracles?

tell me more

Grab a copy of my lastest book "Miracles Manifested" and enter to win a trip to Italy valued at $7000!

I usually use Sunday or Monday to do a big weekly shop. That way I am set up for success in the kitchen. In fact, the Masterclass I am teaching in Toronto goes over the steps I follow to turn one shop into a weeks’ worth of healthy homemade dinners.

But I wanted to address a question that I get a lot of on social. People ask me if I actually eat any of the food I make cause they think I am too skinny to be a chef. The truth is that there is a big difference between nutrition and what nourishes you.

My amazing editor Alice Peck covers the spirituality and sacredness of food in her incredible book “Bread Body Spirit”. I highly recommend you grab a copy of it.

You see it’s not enough to just buy what you perceive to be healthy ingredients. As a consumer, you need to know where the food came from and at what cost to the earth. In fact, the laws of Kashrut prohibit the mistreatment of animals. They are required to be allowed to roam free. And food grown in concentration-style farms in fake soil by mistreated workers is also unkosher.

So learn more about what you are putting into your body and also spiritualize the food every time you eat by realizing that you are lucky enough to have a meal before you. Lots of people have no choice in the matter. Starvation and world hunger are real issues facing humankind.

Maybe that is why I don’t gain weight from eating. Maybe it is because I bring gratitude not gluttony to the table. Most Italians actually grow their own food. And I do my best to get to know local farmers and buy directly from them. I would love to hear your thoughts.
